  All about usI launched Roseberry Creek Designs as a new business in September, 2005. However, don’t let the infancy of this particular business give you pause. As owner of the business and “artist in residence” I have many years of business under my belt.
I was a practicing attorney (hence the stuffy "before" picture above - I'll post an "after" soon!), practicing in the areas of divorce and adoption law for about 10 years (2 of which I stayed at home with my baby and did a lot of shopping and played a lot of tennis - a financially disasterous combination).
Prior to attending law school in Birmingham Alabama, I was in the retail/gift business for 7 years, having opened the business in 1985 at the age of 21. That business is still operating today (and run by my mother since late 1991), as the most popular and prosperous retail gift business in Northern Alabama.
Practicing law was definitely not "in my blood" like design, art and hand-crafting (what my mother lovingly referred to as "making a mess" when I was young).
I decided (with the full support of my wonderfully sweet husband, Steve), in 2005, that life was too short to be doing something every day that I just did not like (to put it mildly) and to make my love of art and design my business.
I knew I did not want another traditional retail store because I wanted to be flexible enough to spend time with my son, Parks.
As I began the business plan and started building the website (they don't teach web design in law school, by the way) I quickly realized I needed several clones!
There was no way to run the business and do all of the design and artwork as well.
Therefore, I have garnered some of the most talented and creative children's artists and artisans in the country to design and create exciting and unique baby and children's items or for you all (or as we like to say down south "ya'll"!). Each of them makes and ships the item from their studio. Please allow them at least 4-6 weeks on most items - you want it to be as lovely as possible don't you?!
